To get started, you must register with Chronicle Dreams by following the registration link on the left side of the page. You will need to create a user name and password and enter an email address.

Once you have registered with Chronicle Dreams, follow the link in the User Navigation box that says "My Dreams." Then click "New Dream" to begin a dream journal entry.

You will then see fields to enter information about your dream. It will need a title, an approximation of the day and time that it occurred, the type of dream that it is and a thorough description of the dream (as much as you can remember).

You can then add themes, emotions and characters to the dream, which will help with interpreting the dream. Adding themes will enable Chronicle Dreams' auto interpretation feature.

Once you are done entering this information, click "create" and you will be taken to a page where you can view the dream. If you have added themes to your dream, you can use the auto interpretation feature to interpret the dream.

There are many ways to go about interpreting a dream. Chronicle Dreams recomends that you enter your dream and include as much detail as you can remember. Once you've created your dream entry, be sure to add as many themes, emotions and characters as are relavant to the dream. You can do this on the entry page for the dream or on the "show" page for the dream, which is the page you are taken to immediately after creating the dream.

After including some themes for your dream, you will enable the auto interpretation button for the dream (refresh the page if you have added themes and do not see it). By clicking this button, Chronicle Dreams will use its research of the themes, emotions and characters that you have associated with the dream to offer some typical interpretations for such dreams.

Another way of interpreting your dream is to set the privacy setting to "friends only" or "public" and allow other visitors to offer their interpretations for the dream.

After you have registered and logged in, you can create characters to add to your dreams by following the "My Characters" link in the user navigation box. From the "My Characters" page, follow the "new character" link to add a new character. On the entry form for the character, give the character a name (character names will only be visible to you), select the type of character (Familiar, Unfamiliar, Celebrity, etc.), select the relationship you have to this character (friend, mother, father, husband, wife, son, coworker, etc.), then include a brief description of the character.

Once you create the character, it will then be available for you to add to your dream. When you create a celebrity character, this character will be available to all other users as well, and you will not be able to edit this character once you have created it.

Once you have created a character, you can add him or her to your dream by navigating to the "show" page for the dream and clicking the "add character" link or on the entry form of the dream as you are first editing it.

You will then see a drop-down menu with a list of characters to select. Select the character and then click "create." Chronicle Dreams tracks how often this character appears in your dreams and you can see an analysis of each character by following the link on the "My Characters" page.

To analyze a dream character, you must first add this character to dreams that he or she has appeared in. In order for Chronicle Dreams to provide a quality analysis, the character should have appeared in several dreams and each dream should have themes and emotions associated with them.

You can see this analysis by going to the "My Characters" page and selecting the "analyze" link next to the character you would like to analyze.

You can add emotions to your dream by navigating to the "show" page for the dream and clicking the "add emotion" link or you can add emotions on the dream entry form when you're first creating the dream.

You will then see a drop-down menu with a list of emotions to select. Select the emotion and then click "create." You can add more than one emotion to a dream by following the same procedure.

Chronicle Dreams tracks how often these emotions appear in your dreams and you can see graph of these emotions by going to the "My Dream Trends" page.

You can add themes to your dream by navigating to the "show" page for the dream and clicking the "add theme" link or by adding it on the dream entry form when you first create a new dream.

You will then see a drop-down menu with a list of themes to select. Select the theme and then click "create." You can add more than one theme to a dream by following the same procedure.

Chronicle Dreams tracks how often these themes appear in your dreams and you can see graph of these themes by going to the "My Dream Trends" page.

Chronicle Dreams provides a few resources for finding the meaning of dreams. If you journal your dreams and add themes, emotions and characters to them, Chronicle dreams can automatically pull the meanings of these elements into an automatic dream interpretation.
