Description:

I was packing to go to China, and since I had been there before, I knew I didn’t want to carry too much baggage. I made certain that I packed my tickets this time (as I had tried to travel without them in another dream). I drove my car to the airport and circled around many times looking for a parking space. I finally found several spaces in a small parking garage. I ran into some friends I knew and told them I thought I might miss my plane to China. They asked if I had renewed my passport. OH NO! My passport was in my desk drawer at home! I frantically pulled out my ticket to check my flight time, while simultaneously trying to start my car to race back home. The ignition switch was hanging by a wire, the windshield was now nonexistant, and the steering wheel was the size of a small plate. I could not locate the ramp to drive out of the parking garage, and had to attempt to drive up a flight of concrete stairs. I then found myself walking through very small hallways full of children in school uniforms. I located the airline ticket counter after being pointed down the right hallway by a helpful person who recognized the frantic look on my face. I was pleading my case with an airline agent who really wasn’t concerned if I travelled or not, she had other papers to sort through first. I sighed deeply and woke up.

Cars and vehicles in dreams are often a symbol for your self. The ignition and the windshield could be your perception that you aren't feeling adequate. Maybe there's something that you really want to do or some place that you really want to go, but you just don't feel up to the task. The other barriers to your travels could indicate that you're feeling things are out of your control in your life. What do you think the children in school uniforms could represent?
