Being With My Grandmother Again

Before I went to sleep I asked to have a dream about my family members, as I was missing spending time with them.

I dreamt that I was walking into a retirement village to visit my Grandmother (though in real life she always lived on a farm). I was sitting chatting with some of the other residents, when an aide rushed in to tell me that my Grandmother didn’t have long live, and that the family was being called in. I courteously excused myself, but was frustrated that I had not gone straight away to see her. I found my Grandmother’s room which was bathed in a warm and soft light in golds and browns. She was sitting upright with her arms held out to me and smiling. I gave her a long hug and told her how happy I was to see her again after so long. She began slipping down in the chair, and as I tried to prop her up, I could feel her slipping away.

I then saw my Mother come into the room with a look of worry and concern on her face. As I stepped back to make room, I recognized that my Mother was about to lose her own mother, and how painful that would be to her, as it was to me when my mother died (her). And it was too late for me to help her through this. Even in my dream I recognized that both my Mother and Grandmother had already passed on, in real life, and how special it was to see them now and feel connected. More and more family members crowded into the room and I was pushed further away as they crowded around my Grandmother. I felt cheated out of that intimate time that I wanted to have to talk with my Grandmother and Mother more. I then saw two of my uncles, Bob and Ernie (who have also passed on). Bob told me not to worry about it, I would have much more time with them later. Ernie said to relax, everything would be taken care of.

I awoke happy and feeling our hearts tied together like a string of pearls (Michael Franks song).
This helped me to recognize that my role is to help others through difficulties because I can understand how they feel. I have assistance from the next world.
