Chasing Down an Old Friend

I was on the campus of the university in my hometown and saw an old friend of mine walking by with members of the marching band.

At first I walked past, and then it occurred to me that I hadn’t seen her in a long time, and I should really talk to her and catch up.

I turned around and called to her, but she seemed to try to ignore me. I caught up with her and tried to talk a bit but it seemed like she wanted to be somewhere else.

It was nice to see her, but it left me feeling sad.
